Meet Angela

My passion is to make a difference in the lives of children, one nurturing touch at a time.

Since I work with children, I think it’s important that you know a little bit about me.

My Background

If you weren’t sure by my chosen career, I love kids.  I am a doting Aunty to 7 and a deputised Aunty to quite a few more.  I was raised in a large family; my mother is one of 11.  I have been surrounded by loads of kids of various ages and the family keeps growing all the time.

I have a broad employment history, all with one common theme.  A desire to make a difference in the lives of others and to serve my community with compassion and care.

I can’t think of a better way to do this than through children, helping them reach their full potential.

Why Paediatric Massage?

The first memory I have of the benefits of massage therapy for children was as a teenager.  I learnt how to provide percussion/tapotement to the chest and back of my young cousin who had cystic fibrosis to help clear his lungs.  After obtaining my qualifications in Remedial Massage in 2010 I had a desire to learn more.  I set  out to learn about massage for the youngest people in my community.

Infant and Paediatric Certification

2014 I traveled to London to participate in the Certified Paediatric Massage training run by the Liddle KidzTM Foundation and I was hooked.

2015 I completed Touch Therapy for children with Cancer, Infant Massage and Infant Massage – Special Needs Teacher training.

2016 I traveled to Ireland to complete Touch Therapy for children with Autism and Touch Therapy for children with Cerebral Palsy.

Volunteering

January 2016 I joined the Liddle KidzTM Foundation as a Global Ambassador.

I participated in a sustainable program of providing nurturing touch to the under-served children of the Philippines.

Most importantly, I educated the caregivers so that the benefits of providing nurturing touch to the children of the Philippines could continue long after I left.

This was an invaluable, life changing experience that taught me so much.

I am truly grateful to have been part of this experience and shared it with some other amazing therapist from all over the world.

What do you get from me?

My touch is filled with respect, compassion, purpose and care.

My focus is on empowering you, so together we will work to provide an environment of education, trust, safety and healing for your child.

You will learn how to apply nurturing touch in a safe, effective and simple way so you may be an active participant in your child’s health and wellbeing.

I am registered with Massage & Myotherapy Australia (previously known as AAMT) and I have a current working with children check.

Other than massage, what am I interested in?

In my spare time I love cooking and entertaining my family and friends, to travel, sport of just about any kind, being outdoors in the warmer months or wrapped up in a blanket with a good book and a glass of wine in the cooler ones.
